From time to time, bank customers are exposed to newer and newer methods of attacks aimed at hijacking access to their accounts. Santander Bank Polska often warns against such phishing campaigns or threats at ATMs, which not everyone is aware of. This time, however, it is about fake e-mail messages.

The National Bank of Poland announced the record value of frauds carried out with the use of cards and transfers. It amounted to over PLN 67 million, of which fraudulent (internet) transfers amount to PLN 41.5 million.

The scammers on OLX are still on the prowl. The new scam shows that cybercriminals adapt to the changes of the website creators and constantly improve their methods. In September, the platform launched its payment system and buyer protection program. The transaction service quickly became a breeding ground for fraudsters who immediately created fake versions of the portal.

Fraudsters and thieves are not idle and decided to take advantage of the current situation in Poland related to the growing number of coronavirus infections. As we read on the government website of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, Polish citizens began to receive text messages with the following content: Sanitary Inspection: Please contact us immediately by phone number 57 ... regarding a positive COVID-19 result.
