Cybercrime - a serious side effect of the Covid-19 crisis

The current crisis on financial markets carries many threats to the functioning of the global economy. It affects everyone without exception - corporations, private companies, households, individuals. It is unique, it was not caused by any financial disasters, but by the invisible virus - SARS-CoV-2, causing COVID-19 disease, reports Iga Sikorska, Chief Analyst Experian CEE and Bartosz Wójcicki, director of Biuro Antifraudowych Usług BIK SA.

Fraudsters send e-mails with the "order from Facebook". A dangerous file is hidden inside

Cybercriminals send e-mails and try to convince Poles to install malware. Experts from CERT Polska inform about the phishing attack. Phishing attacks on Poles continue. In the past week we have written several times about various attempts to steal data or money. Cybercriminals use all methods to authenticate their "good" intentions.

Watch out for text messages imitating InPost! Again...

SMSy z Cerberusem (nie od InPostu) – CERT Orange Polska

Text messages with Cerberus (not sent by InPost). Some time ago we praised InPost for withdrawing from text messages informing about the shipment status. The reason was obvious - the magnitude (this word was here for a reason!) ff the messages impersonating the operator of parcel machines. What's worse - queued under the real ones, because of the identical overwrite (i.e. the sender's name).

Watch out for text messages imitating InPost!

Today was a busy day for criminals. They tried to rob Poles by imitating Getin Bank and Idea Bank and then tempted with false discounts on Allegro. We joked in the editorial office that we still need InPost to today's Fraudster-Bingo. And here we have it. An attack with fake text messages has just started, in which someone is imitating InPost and urges you to install a malicious application.

Watch out for text messages imitating Allegro

Watch out for text messages in which fraudsters impersonating Allegro urge you to download a malicious mobile application: "Discount of 20PLN on purchases at Allegro and 5 free deliveries! Just download our new application HTTPS://ALLEGR0.NET/APK and enter the code: GSL2GW". After clicking on the link from the SMS (note "0" instead of "o"), the victim will see the following page where the application will be downloaded. The attack only affects Android devices.

Watch out for a new smart attack on clients of Polish banks!

Someone creates websites identical to the websites of well-known Polish banks and buys ads on Google so that these pages appear first in Google search results. A lot of people enter bank websites by entering their name in the address bar (accustomed to the fact that the browser will move them to the page with search results) and click automatically on the first search results link.

Watch out for the "new regulations on Facebook". It's a trick, you can infect your smartphone

A new campaign of fake emails has been noticed on the Internet, which CERT Polska warns about. In this case, criminals use Facebook's image, suggesting to recipients the need to accept the alleged new privacy policy. In fact, nothing like this was entered, and the message is only intended to encourage the recipient to click the button leading to the crafted page.
